Hello and welcome to Rory. This is a lovely west highland white terrier. His leg has really been through alot though!

When young he had criciate disease and had a TPLO to repair. Many years later he managed to dislocate the hip in the same limb!

He had a toggle to allow it to heal, but it failed. This is not unusual as they are not meant for long term support. this meant the dog was very lame.

Mum was now very reluctant to put him through further surgery, due to and and how badly he copes with the stress. So he was put on strong pain relief. When this didnt work mum was faced with the dreaded question about quality of life.

So mum decided to try physio. Thank goodness she did!

We are thrilled to report, that we did our assessment and set her an excercise plan to get her using the limb gently and rebuilding the lost muscle.

Rorys mum has followed the plan really well and Rory is doing wonderfully. He is now also off the strong pain relief medications.
