Welcome to Skye

Hello and welcome to Skye. Such a sweet hungarian Visla. She is super nervous too. Luckily we could put her at ease enough for our treatment programe. This one was pretty intence.

She managed to rupture her cruciate ligament. Very sad at 10 years old. But she is so fit and healthy so she had that on her side. We all explained the difficulty of having a dog over 15 kg doing conservetive management, but due to her age, her mum and dad wanted to try this.

We were so proud to say, that she was doing incredible well. By week 6 she was looking almost sound and was rebuilding her excercise appropriatly. She was on an ultrasound regime.

However as she got better, she got excited and happy and had a moment that set her back.

We had a frank conversation and she went back to the vets. The vet was super impressed because actually, she had found the cruciate ligamnet was now doing really well. So we had delt with the issue she had been referred for. But there was now a new issue. The vet felt there was some unusual bone growth and so she was referred for further investigation.

We also await the results. But well done mum, dad and Skye. You all did a great job and we hope this bone growth is not too serious.

Welcome to Lucy

Hello and welcome to Lucy. She is a beautiful labradoodle and has been doing great for many years. But one day she ran off in her play and had an accident and ruptured her criciate ligament. It is suprisingly easily done and something we see frequently.

She ended up needing to see a specialist who did a TPLO procedure to fix the stifle (knee).

She has done wonderfully following the surgery but she does now need physiotherapy to regain lost muscle and get some confidence in the limb.

We have set her up with a home excercise regime. She is doing really well and we will have her feeling loads better very soon.

Keep up the good work Lucy and family!
